Pediatric Orthopaedic Specialties

Pediatric Amputee Clinical Service
Provides diagnosis and treatment for children with congenital or traumatic amputations. Physiologic and psychologic support for patients and their families is available, with the services of occupational and physical therapy utilized. Prosthetic assessment is also offered.

Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Clinical Service
The Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center offers diagnosis and treatment for children with cerebral palsy. The center offers diagnosis via pediatric neurologists and assessment by pediatric orthopaedic doctors. In addition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dental and social work are available, all of which support the child in activities of daily living.

Pediatric Myelomeningocele Clinical Service
The Pediatric Myelomeningocele Clinical Service provides treatment to children with by myelomeningocele. Services provided include orthopaedic, urologic, physical and occupational therapy, nursing and dietary evaluation and treatment. Neurosurgical treatment is provided by the Pediatric Neurosurgery Service.

Sports Medicine Clinical Service
Pediatric Sports Medicine service newly established in conjunction with Riley Hospital for Children. The Clinic addresses the special needs of children and adolescents for participation in an active healthy lifestyle as well as orthopaedic intervention when appropriate dealing with the injuries that these athletes incur. A variety of problems are addressed including ligamentous and cartilage injuries to the knee and ankle, shoulder instability problems as well as overuse injuries to the upper and lower extremities and spine.

Foot and Ankle Clinical Service
Provides treatment for congenital and acquired foot and ankle deformities. Both operative and nonoperative treatment alternatives are utilized to deliver the most effective and appropriate care to the patient.
